Hannah Kerfoot

Medical Scientist

Before joining the Pharmora team in July 2023, I completed my Masters degree (MSc in Biological Sciences) at the University of Manchester. My lab project for this course involved studying the implication of epigenetic changes on the overall respiratory health of C.elegans and ultimately on human genes and diseases. I also hold a 1st Class BSc (with hons) in Zoology from LJMU, which I completed over the pandemic whilst also being an essential worker and taking extra hours to help at my position at a small local supermarket.

While being at Pharmora, I have been trained and inducted into the team, under the expert guidance and resources of the Pharmora medical team, headed by Dr Stephanie Jones. From the start of my time here, I have held up well under pressure during work on projects with tight deadlines and never let standards slip due to my diligence.

My background in Zoology as well as general biological sciences gives me a unique perspective in my work on medical narratives. My interest in literature and writing stands me in good stead for medical writing and QC work, as I enjoy proof-reading. In my spare time, I also enjoy music, having been a member of my choir for over 10 years. My choir performs for charity, and I enjoy performing when I know it will make a difference in people’s lives.
