Robert Clowes

Medical Scientist

I’m Robert, a Scientist who joined the Pharmora team in July 2023. I hold a first-class BSc. (Hons) in Biology (accredited by the Royal Society of Biology) and an MSc. in Biomedical Science with distinction, where I completed my dissertation assessing the effect of oxidative stress on protein localisation in an in vitro model of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). I was also fortunate enough to have worked as an intern in the forensic department at Keele University in 2014, which sparked my interest in science and motivated me to pursue a career in this field.

During my studies I became familiar with various concepts relating to the pharmaceutical industry such as clinical trial implementation, efficacy measurements, data presentation and nanotechnology. Furthermore, I have experience using various forms of statistical analysis software including R Studio, Minitab, GraphPad Prism and Excel. Upon graduating in 2018, I worked as a key worker during the COVID-19 pandemic assisting in keeping food supply chains stocked whilst also allowing me to fund my master’s degree in September 2021.

Since joining Pharmora I have been trained in various areas of Pharmacovigilance such as monitoring patient safety data, identifying inconsistencies, clinical data review, generating queries and literature reviews.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, reading and watching movies.
