People often ask:

“What does Pharmora do?”

Our list of services can seem confusing: how can we have such a wide range of expertise and maintain such high quality?

The answer is simple:

Pharmora does everything a capable global medical department can do.

How can we have such a wide range of expertise?

Our portfolio of expertise includes medics and scientists across clinical development, patient safety and medical affairs.

Scaling – Contracts of All Sizes:

Although the permanent team in the Medical Department is relatively small (25, the department continues to grow, and we continue to have access to our network of proven sub-contractors with decades of relevant experience. This model maintains our core capability and allows Pharmora to select the person with the right expertise, and quickly upscale to the size of the project wherever needed.

How do we maintain such high quality?

  • Internal training and mentoring
  • Quality assurance

Our more experienced staff mentor those with less experience and check their work. We have a system of internal training and competence assessment designed by Dr Jones, who is a FPM qualified Educational Supervisor and maintains oversight of the Medical Department.

History of Pharmora

We were founded in 2010 by our CEO and Chief Medical Officer, Dr Stephanie Jones, initially using a network of her most trusted colleagues as sub-contractors. Since then, she has personally recruited and trained all our permanent staff in the Medical Department, and built a robust system of training, mentoring, cascade learning and Quality Assurance.

Dr Jones’ capability from over three decades of professional experience spans patient safety, medical affairs and clinical development. In addition to being a qualified GP she worked for large global pharma companies and in biotech, before incorporating Pharmora in 2010, when she had identified the need for a high-quality service provider.

In 2015 Ian Pinches joined forces with Steph, becoming President of Pharmora. Ian is an ex-KPMG CCAB qualified Chartered Accountant, GE Capital trained Lean Six Sigma Management Consultant and highly experienced company director. Using his expertise, he has upgraded Pharmora’s internal processes and created a world class business operation in Pharmora that frees Dr Jones to focus on our clients’ requirements.

Steph and Ian are a married couple and Pharmora is a family owned and managed business.  We focus on our meeting our customers’ requirements and delivering our mission, “Quality without compromise”.

Through the leadership of our Directors, Pharmora is a fully independent, efficient and effective family-run business, which benefits from the wide ranging and complementary expertise of its two leaders.

How does it work?

Step 1:
Initial Contact with Pharmora

After you reach out one of our team will arrange a call with the appropriate person so that you speak directly to someone who would be leading the project rather than a sales representative. This will usually require a confidentiality agreement so we can speak freely about our services and the project.

Step 2:
Pharmora scope of work

The Pharmora project lead will discuss your needs and create a scope of work. Once this is agreed it will be signed by both parties and work can commence.

Ideally there will be a Master Level Service Agreement (MSA) with the organisation, so that additional projects can be more easily added as needed, but this is not a requirement, and typically an MSA follows initial success.

Step 3:
Kick-off meeting with Pharmora

There will normally be a meeting with your team and the Pharmora team assigned to the project, to establish key contacts and ways of working.

Step 4:
Working with Pharmora

We maintain continuity and seamless cover using our finely-honed team model. Our team will be deployed to your project for the lifetime of the service. Pharmora will communicate with your team as agreed in the kick off meeting.

Changes could occur during a project due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. pandemic/geo-political events). Pharmora can adapt and update the scope of work as required.
