Rhandel Cabuhal
Medical Scientist
I am a dedicated and curious scientist with a strong passion for learning and discovery. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Dundee and an MSc in Experimental Medicine from Queen’s University Belfast, where I graduated with Distinction. Following my interest in scientific research, my Master’s studies focused on developing a novel cell model using induced pluripotent stem cells to advance research into lung fibrosis. My ability to conduct thorough literature reviews, analyse data and write effectively contributed to a comprehensive dissertation and co-authorship of a meta-analysis published in the BMJ.
Both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies provided extensive exposure to clinical trial design and review, which I found to be the most enjoyable aspects of my education. This motivated and inspired me to pursue a career in pharmacovigilance. Currently, I am part of the Pharmora team, where I have undergone extensive training under the mentorship of Dr. Steph Jones, Chief Medical Officer. The training has covered key areas of pharmacovigilance, including adverse event reporting, risk management, and clinical study protocols. Additionally, I have gained valuable hands-on experience reviewing clinical trial applications, working closely with seasoned medical scientists and pharmaceutical physicians. The rigorous and efficient quality control I have seen implemented at Pharmora before delivering to clients has demonstrated how we provide quality without compromise.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, weightlifting, and exploring topics in psychology and philosophy.
